The worksheet library
Build a clearer income-loss worksheet
Distinguish missed income from projections and benefits.
Choose a consistent basis
Use the same basis for the weekly income figure and the missed period. Gross pay, take-home pay and business revenue are different measures. Label the basis in your private notes. Do not compare a gross weekly wage with a net benefit payment and assume the difference is legally recoverable.
Count the affected period
The calculator multiplies your entered weekly amount by your entered weeks. Partial weeks can be expressed as decimals. Separate a period with no work from a period with reduced hours; adding those as separate private rows usually explains the situation more clearly than one blended number.
Self-employment needs a different conversation
Revenue is not profit, and an unusually strong month is not automatically a normal baseline. Organise invoices, ordinary expenses, seasonality and replacement help. Ask an accountant or lawyer what comparison and period are suitable rather than multiplying an optimistic sales figure.
Questions to carry forward
What would the records show without the event? Which payments already replaced income? Is the future period supported or only a scenario? Keep the evidence available privately; this site does not request your payroll files.
