Read an offer as a set of terms

Use a deduction worksheet alongside the actual documents.

The headline is one line

An offer can involve payment timing, releases, costs, benefits, repayment issues and terms you need to understand. This tool only performs the subtraction you request. It does not decide whether an offer is fair or whether you should accept it.

Enter the actual assumptions

In the offer worksheet, enter a gross amount, an optional percentage deduction and known additional costs. The percentage defaults to zero and is not a recommended fee. Check which base a percentage applies to and whether taxes, expenses or other items are separate under the relevant agreement.

A negative balance is informative

If your entered deductions exceed the gross amount, the tool shows a shortfall. It does not hide it by rounding the result to zero. Recheck the inputs and ask which items belong in the comparison.

Before making a decision

Ask what the release covers, what remains unresolved, who receives each payment and what independent advice is available. Downloading a worksheet does not accept an offer or protect a deadline. Keep the actual agreement in a secure place.
