Keep arithmetic apart from legal conclusions.
A percentage can look more certain than it is
A slider marked fault invites a user to decide a legal question before anyone has reviewed the facts. This worksheet does not make that decision or apply a percentage to its cost total. Documented spending remains documented spending even while entitlement is disputed.
Use a question map
Which events are agreed? Which documents are available? Which jurisdiction and process apply? Are there multiple parties or a benefits route? Put uncertainties into questions you can ask rather than entering a number that makes them seem resolved.
A benefits route is not a damages calculation
ICBC’s Enhanced Care information explains that compensation lawsuits are limited to certain circumstances. Eligibility for benefits and a possible civil claim need their own review. An economic-impact total does not decide either route.
Avoid a false zero
If a claim route does not apply, that does not necessarily answer every benefit or support question. Use the official information and seek an appropriate professional explanation. Do not interpret a calculator result as a decision on your rights.
