Ontario: your policy date matters
The July 2026 accident-benefit change is tied to policy entry dates.
Read the policy, not just the province
FSRA states that for policies entered into on or after July 1, 2026, only standard medical, rehabilitation and attendant-care benefits remain mandatory. Other accident-benefit coverages described by the regulator become optional and have conditions about who is covered.
The worksheet cannot infer coverage
An event date alone does not tell this tool when a policy was entered into or what optional coverages were bought. Check the policy documents and ask the insurer to explain the applicable benefits. The worksheet’s income and expense figures do not decide benefit eligibility or civil damages.
Prepare a focused review
Keep policy dates, the declarations and payment information privately. Ask which route applies, which payments overlap and which steps or deadlines matter. For legal advice or an offer review, use a licensed professional rather than a calculator total.
